How to edit
the background out of your pictures using Photoshop Elements
Original picture -
try to use a solid colored background that is totally different than the
color of the item you are photographing. I have used a black sheet
for the background on this one.
Magic
Eraser tool
For this method,
you will use the magic eraser tool. Click on the arrow next to the
eraser, and it will give you 3 choices. Pick the magic eraser
tool.
With the magic
eraser, click anywhere on the background you want removed. For
mine, it would be in the black area. If it does erase all of your
background, or erases too much, you can change the tolerance.
That's it! If
you still notice some stray background areas that haven't been erased,
use the eraser tool and manually erase those spots.
If that doesn't
work, you can try using the Polygonal Lasso Tool
Click along the
outside edges of your object. Come back around to where you
started. It will create "marching ants". After you
have the marching ants, hit your delete button. It will delete the
background.
